Since your architecture is i386 you need to download the two i386.deb
files and the all.deb. Go to where you downloaded them in a terminal
window and install them one by one with sudo dpkg -i linux...

Then shut down and start again. Open a terminal and check with uname -a
that you are now running the downloaded kernel. Type sync (+return) to
sync your hard disk before attempting to suspend.

Does it suspend successfully? Does it resume from suspend successfully?
