@Boris: To be clear, I think what is starting Orca *is* the autostart
file. (And thus what the 'quick fix' would be is for Ubuntu to remove
the autostart file because this particular autostart file doesn't really
apply to Unity or to Natty. AND the downstream gnome-orca doesn't
autostart Orca that way anyway. So at best this file is completely
useless in this particular downstream. And it's apparently causing
problems on top of it.)

My question is *why* is the autostart file starting Orca, because the
autostart file condition is that

    gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.a11y.applications screen-reader-
enabled

is TRUE. Elias (experiencing the bug) says it is FALSE but it gets
started anyway. So I'm thinking that the bug may lie in whatever package
does the processing of xdg autostart files.
