I also experience similar bugs. If I login with a secondary monitor, my X freezes. If I login with a single monitor and then connect the other one, the dual monitor configuration is crappy and not like the default one I saved. If I try to configure my non laptop screen as the primary one, only part of the screen becomes usable.
These are all very critical bugs that makes Ubuntu 11.04 practically unusable for me.
