Public bug reported: SRU Justification
Impact: The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream by originating either directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally backported form of that patch. The 2.6.32.38-drm33.17 upstream stable patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu kernel as well. git://git.kernel.org/ TEST CASE: TBD The following patches are in the 2.6.32.38-drm33.17 stable release: drm/i915: set DIDL using the ACPI video output device _ADR method return. drm/radeon/kms: MC vram map needs to be >= pci aperture size drm/radeon/kms: make sure blit addr masks are 64 bit drm/radeon/kms: fix handling of tex lookup disable in cs checker on r2xx drm/i915: Free hardware status page on unload when physically mapped drm/i915/overlay: Ensure that the reg_bo is in the GTT prior to writing. drm/radeon/kms/atom: set sane defaults in atombios_get_encoder_mode() drm/radeon/kms: fix typos in disabled vbios code drm/radeon/kms: add workaround for dce3 ddc line vbios bug drm/radeon/kms: fix interlaced and doublescan handling drm/i915/sdvo: Always add a 30ms delay to make SDVO TV detection reliable drm/radeon/kms: don't apply 7xx HDP flush workaround on AGP drm/ttm: Fix two race conditions + fix busy codepaths drm/i915: overlay on gen2 can't address above 1G drm/i915: fix memory corruption with GM965 and >4GB RAM drm/radeon: add quirk to make HP nx6125 laptop resume. drm/radeon/kms: add quirk to make HP DV5000 laptop resume ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Lucid) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Tags added: kernel-stable-tracking-bug ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Lucid) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775547 Title: Lucid update to 2.6.32.38-drm33.17 stable release -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
