I just tried it again after a fresh boot - and it worked.
It is not 100% reproducable, but I've seen it several times - enough to know 
that suspend is not really reliable. And that's the worst impression such a 
function can give since it means that I can never be sure and always have to 
close/save all work before trying it. :-(

What can I do AFTER it happened to give you any clues about this issue??
