I honestly don't understand what's going on with the bug status here. I
wasn't involved in any kind of beta-testing for maverick: I've been
using the production version ever since its release. The bug occurs at
random intervals with all kinds of pop-up menus: right-click, menubar,
and others: any of those black-background selection menus that pop up on
top of everything else on the screen and are drawn by GTK.

Also, are you sure this is likely to be a bug in X? If I were to guess,
I'd think it much more likely to be a bug in GTK, Gnome, or the window
manager than a bug in X.
