quick question, does your grub start in graphics mode or as text in the console? any way, can you try to change the /etc/default/grub file so that the option GRUB_TERMINAL=console is not commented (removing the #) and then sudo grub2-update to apply the change?
I have tried this in my system and it blinks a lot less during the boot, and I cold actually get to the X once - then I gave it up an removed (apt-get autoremove --purge) the kernel, headers and dkms In my case, the later reinstalation of those (kernel, headers and dmks) were suffice. 2011/5/3 Brad Figg <brad.f...@canonical.com> > ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Confirmed > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/768558 > > Title: > [STAGING] X wont start since the upgrade to 2.6.35-29-generic-pae > > To unsubscribe from this bug, go to: > https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/768558/+subscribe > -- Fábio Leitão ..-. .- -... .. --- .-.. . .. - .- --- ...-.- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/768558 Title: [STAGING] X wont start since the upgrade to 2.6.35-29-generic-pae -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
