Binary package hint: gdm

nVidia 240 GT, HDMI to DVI and DVI to DVI in use to two displays.
If the mouse pointer is left alone it will be on the secondary display, which 
is to the right physically and logically
Then the menu appears on that display, usually whether you move the mouse to 
the primary display or not
The login panel generally appears wherever the mouse is before it appears, but 
sometimes it appears wherever the menu is
