I have tested it little bit and it is not working for me. Try to open chromium and Gmail app. Then try to check : xprop | grep _NET_WM_DESKTOP_FILE on both Result is: _NET_WM_DESKTOP_FILE(STRING) = "/usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop" for both. This confuses BAMF in fucntion bamf_matcher_possible_applications_for_window in file bamf-matcher.c.
