Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ubiquity
I got a Ubuntu 11.04 64x (kernel 2.6.38-8-generic, GNOME 2.32.1) image just now (May 05), created a usb drive boot and tried to install it directly... and it crashed. Tried to install from a live session and it crashed again. My PC has the following specs: - AMD Phenom II Quad Core 955 3.2 GHz AM3 BOX (C2) - ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO (Socket AM3) - 2 x DDR3 1333 MHz Patriot Signature 2GB - 500GB SATA II 32 MB Caviar Black Western Digital - VGA PCI-E NVIDIA GTS 250 512MB/256bits Evga - 512-P3-1140-TR - Box ... and so on. I inserted the login, password and network name, it stopped "copying files" and displayed the "Scanning the CD-ROM" message when the following was displayed in a message box: "apt configuration problem An attempt to configure apt to install additional packages from the CD failed." I clicked OK and got this: "Installer crashed We're sorry; the installer crashed. Please fill a new bug report at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+filebug (do not attach your details to any existing bug) and a developer will attend to the problem as soon as possible. To help the developers understand what went wrong, include the following detail in your bug report, and attach the files /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman:" and just a "Close" button... I'm attaching the syslog file as well... I will try to attach the partman file later, I can't find an option to attach more than one file to the bug report. ** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777593 Title: ubuntu 11.04 installer crashed -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
