I can reproduce the same phenomenon (kded4 goes wild, has to be killed) in this way: * KDE Networkmanager Applet connected to any WLAN, connect to any VPN-Network (vpnc) do either 1 disconnect or reconnect the wlan connection when vpn is running or 2 disconnect the vpn connection
Kded4 goes immediately to 100%, the vpn-connection continues to show "connected" Syslog... 07:51:26 vpnc[2591]: select: Interrupted system call 07:51:26 vpnc[2591]: terminated by signal: 15 07:51:26 vpnagent[1192]: Function: tableCallbackHandler File: RouteMgr.cpp Line: 1692 Invoked Function: recv Return Code: 11 (0x0000000B) Description: unknown 07:51:26 avahi-daemon[914]: Withdrawing workstation service for tun0. 07:51:26 vpnagent[1192]: A network interface has gone down. 07:51:26 vpnagent[1192]: Function: logInterfaces File: RouteMgr.cpp Line: 2074 Invoked Function: logInterfaces Return Code: 0 (0x00000000) Description: IP Address Interface List: 192.168.1.10 07:51:26 vpnagent[1192]: Function: tableCallbackHandler File: RouteMgr.cpp Line: 1692 Invoked Function: recv Return Code: 11 (0x0000000B) Description: unknown 07:51:27 NetworkManager[906]: <info> Policy set 'maya' (wlan0) as default for IPv4 routing and DNS. 07:51:27 NetworkManager[906]: SCPlugin-Ifupdown: devices removed (path: /sys/devices/virtual/net/tun0, iface: tun0) 07:51:27 vpnagent[1192]: Function: tableCallbackHandler File: RouteMgr.cpp Line: 1692 Invoked Function: recv Return Code: 11 (0x0000000B) Description: unknown 07:51:33 NetworkManager[906]: <info> VPN service 'vpnc' disappeared 07:51:34 vpnagent[1192]: Function: tableCallbackHandler File: RouteMgr.cpp Line: 1692 Invoked Function: recv Return Code: 11 (0x0000000B) Description: unknown System: Kubuntu Natty 32bit, on a Dell E3400 with Intel Chipsets -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772183 Title: kded4 using 100% CPU - in a Unity session -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
