Public bug reported:

1) Ubuntu Release: 11.04
2) package -- alsa-base: 1.0.24+dfsg0ubuntu1
3) What I expected to happen: to hear sound from my Turtle Beach AudioAdvantage
/ Roadie (older name for the same thing) USB external sound card
4) What actually happened:
There is every visual indication that Ubuntu recognizes the card and is playing
sound, but no sound comes out at all. I ran ubuntu-bug on recommendation to
test and i see that it raised the volume to maximum to play the test tones, and
still no results. Interestingly, the mic on this soundcard appears to operate
perfectly (tapping it produces activity in the monitor) but I can't hear it to
be sure.

This card is recognized in every other (previous) version of Ubuntu I've
tried it in and has always worked very well. It currently runs
perfectly in Linux Mint, Windows XP, and Windows 7 (on the same
computer). Ubuntu 11.04 Beta was the first place I saw this problem and
it has not be resolved in release. I have also tried in Kubuntu 11.04
Beta to the same result (I have not tried Kubuntu release yet).
