Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: aptitude

Was installing postfix and aptitude (GUI version in Xubuntu) crashed.
The system did not report the aptitude crash. I had to do a full package
source re-due via the command line, then aptitude worked again.

Re-due consisted of:
1. init 1 - then to root with network option
2. aptitude -u
    a. packages did not download due to errors on archive.ubuntu.com
3. nano /etc/apt/sources.list
    a. comment out the bad repos and add a new repo source
4. aptitude -u again
5. reinstall postfix

Aptitude is now working.
