After upgrading from 10.10 to 11.04 my pc reboots before prompting the grub-menu. I even can't see the grub console.
After editing the grub.cfg i started update-grub. It failed with the error message "... cannot stat 'aufs'. So i tried to chroot but i got the same error starting update-grub or install-grub.
