I have this problem with bzr and bzr-svn to the same server, here is a log when trying with svn. With bzr branches I can work arround it with https+urllib:// , but with bzr-svn I get another error: $ bzr push https+urllib://<svn branch> bzr: ERROR: Transport operation not possible: http does not support mkdir()
