Public bug reported:
Click on System -> Update Manager. System reports no new updates.
Click on Check for updates and window pops up stating that "An error occurred.
The following details are provided:
E:dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct
the problem.
E:_cache-> open() failed. please report.
When I attempt to execute dpkg from terminal as the system
administrator, the system reports that I have to be a super user to
execute dpkg.
I get the same error when adding/removing applications from the system.
