Public bug reported: Hi
since upgrading to 11.04 I very often (almost every day) experience problems with parsing the package lists from the repository, even after moving from the german repository to the international. All dpkg-related tools like apt-get or synaptic report errors like E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty-updates_main_binary-amd64_Packages E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. although these files look pretty normal at a first glance. I don't know whether it is a problem of the software or the lists generated by the repository. (In the latter case it is still a flaw of the software to not tell or hint about what's wrong with the list.) regards ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/782557 Title: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
