Thanks for your report. I think this is basically bug 103583 (which also
explains why at present we try to get you to select cities rather than
timezones). I'm not sure at the moment whether the right answer is more
cities (somebody will always complain that their city isn't listed) or
some other means of selection.
The GTK frontend used in e.g. the Ubuntu installer has zooming; the fact
that the KDE frontend doesn't is bug 60065.
