I have a similar problem. I cannot connect to any wireless networks at all, despite being able to see them. I assume this isn't related to network management applications in my case since the problem is consistent in wifi radar, network manager and wicd. The networks themselves are visible, but the connection is never established, regardless of whether they are secured or unsecured. My wireless card is a Broadcom 4311 and running using ndiswrapper 1.42 and the appropriate drivers on Feisty Fawn.
