Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dvdrip

Using the default version 1:0.98.11-0ubuntu2, attempted to set the path
to "/media/Expansion Drive" (with and without quotes). System announces
that "special characters are not allowed" and changes the value back.

Firstly, spaces are not special characters in that sense and need to be
available to access external drives (ripping a DVD to the netbooks
internal drives is not an option).

Secondly, changing it back to a value that is definitely wrong
(otherwise I wouldn't be changing it) is _incredibly_ annoying,
particularly when I'm building the path out of 2 parts. Even if the
result is invalid, refusing to save the preferences is preferable to
this kind of on-the-fly "correction".

** Affects: dvdrip (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
