** Description changed: I initially installed Karmic on my Athlon x2, then as new versions were released I upgraded to Natty Narwhal. However, upon updating I'm unable to install any new packages and simply get an error 'Package Operation Failed'. Even trying to install 'desktopcouch-ubuntuone' as specified in Ubuntu One client the installation fails. The output report I got from system update are as follows: Package Operation Failed installArchives() failed: perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings: - LANGUAGE = (unset), - LC_ALL = (unset), - LANG = "en_IN.ISO8859-1" - are supported and installed on your system. + LANGUAGE = (unset), + LC_ALL = (unset), + LANG = "en_IN.ISO8859-1" + are supported and installed on your system. perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C"). locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings: - LANGUAGE = (unset), - LC_ALL = (unset), - LANG = "en_IN.ISO8859-1" - are supported and installed on your system. + LANGUAGE = (unset), + LC_ALL = (unset), + LANG = "en_IN.ISO8859-1" + are supported and installed on your system. perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C"). locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory perl: warning: Setting locale failed. perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings: - LANGUAGE = (unset), - LC_ALL = (unset), - LANG = "en_IN.ISO8859-1" - are supported and installed on your system. + LANGUAGE = (unset), + LC_ALL = (unset), + LANG = "en_IN.ISO8859-1" + are supported and installed on your system. perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C"). locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory dpkg: warning: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/available' near line 51455 package 'openshot-ffmpeg': - error in Version string 'git-ab0189b-1': version number does not start with digit - (Reading database ... + error in Version string 'git-ab0189b-1': version number does not start with digit + (Reading database ...
