No change with the latest kernel, and now the regression is present in Edgy's newest kernel; sound works perfectly in other OSes, older Ubuntus but anything current has no audio.. I'd love to find a source tree for the latest kernel and do a diff with one of the known working kernels (2.6.20-9, 2.6.17-10-generic were the last kernels I know of that playback sound with my configuration).
