Hi, I've packaged 1.5.7 in my ppa (https://launchpad.net/~fabricesp/+archive/experimental): could you please check if that issue is gone with that version, and that the package works correctly?
If so, I'll push it to the archive, try to get get it backported and try to get it updated in Debian, as this is where the package comes from.
