Just bumped into this bug, I guess: clean install of Kubuntu 11.04 AMD64 using alternate cd, full disk with guided partitioning. Failed twice, checked the cdrom for errors and found none, spotted this report. Workaround for me was symlink + cd'ing to /media/cdrom (just in case the link is removed on umount).
