I reinstalled 10.10 on a laptop and used it as a torrent server and it's completely stable, been running for over a week quite happily. My ubuntu 11 machine doesn't crash every five minutes any more now I'm not running a torrent client but it still freezes if there's "heavy" network traffic such as doing a bunch of big http downloads or watching a lot of streaming video.
