@Benoit: Did you try the USB stick in the USB connector on the right- hand side? The ones on the left and back are USB3 and I think they do not work with the kernel on the installer.
Also, once you have finished installing you may need to remove the nvidia driver manually. To do this, you should boot into recovery mode and do: sudo apt-get remove nvidia-current and then reboot. To update my previous comment: now that 11.04 is installed, everything is working nicely on the XPS15 now, including the CD/DVD reader and the USB3 ports (except watch out for the 2.6.39 kernel, which ironically comes with USB3 hub support but which also has a regression that means USB3 devices no longer work). I can use an HDMI monitor via a mini- display-port-to-HDMI adapter plugged into the mini display port. And nvidia card acceleration works if you install bumblebee (see https://github.com/MrMEEE/bumblebee). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774599 Title: Ubuntu 11.04 fails to install on new Dell XPS-15 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
