the problem has been solved for firefox, chrome & opera by installing the addon: "Flash Aid" & using the wizard with all options set by default. (in my case, it installed Adobe's Beta version).
The add-on removes conflicting flash players (in my case gnash & something else i dont even remember anymore) & installs the appropriate one. Good luck for the rest.
