Hi Jean-Baptiste, This is expected behaviour when eth0 is configured in /etc/network/interfaces. However, while the device shows as "not managed", you should still see applications as aware they are online (for instance, Evolution should be able to get online to retrieve mail without clicking "Work offline", and empathy should connect without issues as well).
Could you please verify this? Thanks. ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/790604 Title: after installation, nm reports eth0 as a not managed network device -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
