Hi Jean-Baptiste,

This is expected behaviour when eth0 is configured in
/etc/network/interfaces. However, while the device shows as "not
managed", you should still see applications as aware they are online
(for instance, Evolution should be able to get online to retrieve mail
without clicking "Work offline", and empathy should connect without
issues as well).

Could you please verify this?
