Lonnie,

I still use Autokey in 11.04 default Unity desktop because it's still
running in the background and functions normally. The hotkey Ctrl-K
still brings up the Autokey window and all the hotkeys I have defined
still function ok. The only downside is that the tray icon/applet is
missing.

Also, just logging out and back in again still leaves autokey running in
the background. You either need to reboot or kill the autokey process
before you log off, using either 'killall autokey-qt' or 'killall
autokey-gtk' depending on which one you launched in the first place.

Give 11.04 a go. I reckon it's the best version yet. And I've really got
the hang of Unity which seems so much more efficient with all the
keyboard shortcuts. I am the envy of my work friends who use W7 and who
all suffer from appalling LAN and USB transfer speeds - Ubuntu kills 7.
