Well, all I can add is that, so far, LibreOffice is the _only_
application that seems to trigger the problem.  Just to be clear, it is
not an issue when the application launches but during the use of the
application - it seems to be triggered when working with embedded
graphics/frames in a document. Once triggered then the _only_ way to
close the launcher is to exit LibreOffice - it doesn't matter what other
applications open or close during this time, until LibreOffie is exited
the launcher panel will not close - so is it Unity or is it LibreOffice?
