Same problem here with 10.04 (EasyPeasy 1.6) and Banshee 2.0.1. My external drive is a Samsung Model SE-S204. CDs in this drive are readable by other programs, and I am able to play music from an MP3 player via the same USB port. I will be happy to provide more information, but will need instructions on how to retrieve it.
