It is something I faced too. I was watching a flash on a firefox on full screen. Suddenly the machine goes into power saving mode and screen goes black and when I do any activity like moving a pointer, the screen returns but the video is frozen and though there is audio and I can move the pointer, all the clicks are ineffective. The only option is the restart the machine.
