Directly running the /usr/share/system-config-printer/*.py files is a debug/testing mode. It is not the regular way how to run system-config- printer and its helper applications. If tghe problem only occurs by directly running asyncpk1.py, then it is probably part of a simple testing script and not of a function being called during regular use.
