@Stephen: Yes, that's possible. IIRC I had some KMS-related trouble when plymouth was initially released, too. I think plymouth only started in lo-res and using uvesafb (which solved the resolution problem) led to suspend/resume no longer working. Right now, after switching to the Natty default configuration (without uvesafb), I get console output after unlocking the hdd. @Louis: Does it make sense to mark the bugs you mention as duplicates of this one? ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 775120 on nvidia system without advanced drivers, cryptsetup is not rendered ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 775120 on nvidia system without advanced drivers, cryptsetup is not rendered ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 771905 No logo at boot on nvidia card -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/777302 Title: No password prompt on boot for crypted root disk -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
