Public bug reported: I have a HTPC with and imon VFD / IR device (usb id: 15c2:ffdc).
If the system is off (shutdown) the first boot will cause the kernel to oops on it. If I boot again, a fsck is performed on my root drive, which will slow down the boot, but results in a successful boot (in 90% of the cases). If I blacklist the two modules the system boots perfectly. The only pointer I found is this support issue on the arch linux page: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/23195?project=1&string=kernel26 which indicates it is a kernel bug (it also holds the oops that I am seeing). ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/794234 Title: imon and/or rc_imon_pad cause kernel oops -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
