Binary package hint: dkms I was experiencing a problem trying to install virtualbox that reminded me of a very similar problem with the nvidia driver package. Some errors indicated that dkms failed while trying to find a directory named "-a". I tracked this down to a problem with /usr/lib/dkms/common.postinst.
