** Description changed:

I have a HTPC with and imon VFD / IR device (usb id: 15c2:ffdc).

If the system is off (shutdown) the first boot will cause the kernel to
oops on it. If I boot again, a fsck is performed on my root drive, which
will slow down the boot, but results in a successful boot (in 90% of the
  cases).

If I blacklist the two modules the system boots perfectly.

The only pointer I found is this support issue on the arch linux page:

  https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/23195?project=1&string=kernel26

which indicates it is a kernel bug (it also holds the oops that I am
- seeing).
+ seeing: the one at the bottom reported by Nicoalas).
