It happened on my work machine. Fortunately, I was running unity from a
terminal (to workaround bug#761409), and I have the following in the
terminal:

(0)pern:~/education/SisPer4% 
[1]  - 6417 exit 139   unity --replace > /dev/null 2>&1

So I could restart unity but cutting and pasting the above in the
terminal (no typing, focus was in la-la-land). Nothing in /var/crash.

Maybe I should set something to have the crash available? Some ulimit? Where? 
The crash is not easily reproducible...
