Hi, That same page, Sound Menu - Compliance, states:
"A compliant player should also keep playing if you close its window while it is playing; ****exit if you close its window while it is not playing****; and remember exact state across sessions, so that after exit and relaunch it is as if the player had never exited. " (Emphasis mine) I pause the music (so it's not playing) and go to look for quit option, but it's not there. Now you may argue that pausing is not stopping.. but from what I understand, the stop button was also removed (no preference to show it again either as far as I can see). So, I try another trick, I tick "Stop when finished" in the playback menu, and then cue a song through to just before the end. The player finally goes into idle state.. Still no quit option.. when it's been stopped. Close the window.. It doesn't "exit if you close its window while it is not playing". So, with all due respect, the application does not follow that policy page quoted. An end user shouldn't have to invoke something external to the program UI if they want to terminate the program. Sounds like we're entering the realm of old "Torment and Stay Resident" TSR programs.. ** Changed in: banshee (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/795078 Title: No quit (as opposed to hide) option when sound menu integration is on even when music paused in Ubuntu Classic/Gnome UI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/795078/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
