That bug is not only for dash searches but anything that invokes fts extension usage. it was tracked down to a leak in 64-but xapian.
I can see you can using i386 and not 64-bit, so the issue is somewhere else. The first thing is to find out whether fts is the culprit. Please install fts and then see if the memory again shoot up and then removing fts again brings it down.
