What I've found is that Gnome applications cannot run on the newer versions of Xvnc. I get the message described above when starting any Gnome application:
The error was 'BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)'. (Details: serial 74 error_code 1 request_code 146 minor_code 2) I assume that this happens as soon as querying gdm with my setup. It works if I modify my xstartup to use afterstep and xterm, but that really limits what I can do. I got bit by the upgrade in Edgy earlier.
