I am using an Acer laptop : Aspire 7740G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD
5000 Series, with Ubuntu 11.04 Natty. Almost the same bug, so instead of
opening a new one I prefer first add comments here.

After suspend-to-ram, I cannot wake the system up : I press the power
button, the fan begins to turn, the "numlock" indicator lights on, but
the screen remains blank (and black, there is no screen backlight). No
key will give any input (or, it is not taken into account, anyway
nothing happens even with Alt-Syst-* (* : R,S,E,I,U,B...)). Only a hard
reboot can give a result.

This problem does'nt occur systematically, and (it seems to me) never at
once ; but after normal-looking awakenings, things seem to malfunction :
especially a video game (supertuxkart) becomes slow and "sticky".

I encountered it once after hibernation (suspend-to-disk).

And recently (maybe after a "normal-looking awakening" ?) the poweroff
commands didn't work any more ; I tried to open a terminal (Alt-Ctrl-F1)
but my password was not recognized, finally I used Alt-Syst +
R,S,E,I,U,B to reboot cleanly.

Gonna try to deselect "powerplay" in Ati Catalyst Control Center ...
