I have the same problem while trying to install 11.04 on my desktop (the partitions are already there, from old Ubuntu 8 installation). During the first step of the install, after clicking forward on screen with disk size and web connection confirmation, I get an error "ubi-partman failed with exit code 141". At the end if syslot I've got the error that was already mentioned: IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/partman/outfifo'
