OK, it seems like you've still got an old version of the GCImdb.pl file. The md5sum of the correct version is c36b3331d01eea17ee85a5ee624ae852
If you've got the PPA working properly then you should have version 1.6.1ubuntu2 installed. Alternatively you can get the deb from here: https://launchpad.net/~gcstar/+archive/gcstar- dev/+files/gcstar_1.6.1ubuntu2_all.deb and install with sudo dpkg -i gcstar_1.6.1ubuntu2_all.deb It might be worth completely removing the version you currently have installed first and making sure the /usr/share/gcstar/lib/GCPlugins/GCfilms/GCImdb.pm file is completely removed.
