I had the exact same problem and after some testing this fix worked for me:

   1. Install sun-java6-bin, sun-java6-jdk, sun-java6-jre
   2. install libsvn-javahl.
   3. If needed, install eclipse...
   4. Open /usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse.ini and add this line at the botton of the 
file:"-Djava.library.path=/usr/lib/jni/".
   5. Open /etc/eclipse/java_home and add the line "/usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun" to 
the top of list of java-versions.
   6. Start eclipse and install subclipse.


Hopefully that should do it...
