I had a similar situation after the 11.04 update. But starting nautilus from terminal as root (gksudo nautilus...) I found these messages:
vittorio@IBMT410UB:/usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-2.0$ gksudo nautilus Initializing nautilus-open-terminal extension Initializing nautilus-gdu extension Initializing nautilus-dropbox 0.6.7 I removed the dropbox extension and now nautilus regained its original speed.....
