While I can confirm Patrick's report I don't think the behaviour he
expects is desirable, as this would mean that only to switch between
applications you would have to do more than one click. Maybe we can come
up with a different idea to satisfy beginners and more sophisticated
users at the same time? Have a look at

Apart from that this behaviour can be very confusing if you have many
windows of the same application open which look more or less the same in
the scale view (e.g. Terminal)
