My current release is Maverick Meerkat. I continue to have problems with screen freezing, etc. I've had to disable all compiz special effects and the screen saver. By doing so, I have no problems. There is some kind of problem with the above video chipset and compiz/opengl but I don't know what it is. As Maverick Meerkat is a long term release and Natty Narwhal is unlikely to support my hardware either, I am inclined to not upgrade as a solution to a problem which has existed off and on since Hardy Heron.
