Thanks for your report. It appears that your volume is turned down below
50% or muted entirely. Please check that the volume level is set to a
reasonable amount. You can do so by clicking the speaker icon in the top
right hand corner of your screen, and adjusting the volume control found
in the drop-down menu. Also check that you have the rigt output
connector selected. From the same drop-down menu, choose "Sound
Preferences...". Once a new window opens, go to the "Output" tab, and
choose the appropriate connector from the "Connector" drop-down box.

If none of the above helps, you can try updating the audio drivers, as
explained here:
