When I open a fullscreen opengl application on my asus x58l, the sound and the input work fine, but the video freezes almost immediately, and does not unfreeze. I am able to switch to a different console using Ctrl+Alt+F1, and run "killall -9 app", which stops the sound and the input, and closes nexuiz, but the video is still frozen at a blank screen. Pressing Alt+SysRq+K brings me back to the login screen WHICH IS STILL TURNED OFF and does not allow me to continue using my computer. The only way is to switch to the console and Control+Alt+Del to reboot.
